平和主義者もいるが、そうでない人間も莫大にいることをまず認識すれば、「世の中が平和である」という前提で物を考えるのが、いかに危険なのかが分かる。

間違えてはいけないのは、あなたが平和主義であっても世の中には関係ないということだ。

世の中の大多数は、平和を愛している。しかし、一部の空想家をのぞけば、誰も暴力が世の中から消えるなど考えたこともないだろう。
